THE DEFINITIVE GUIDE TO THE TAVERNS AND INNS OF MIDDLE EARTH
WHY DID I DO THIS?Why would anyone do such a thing as to document, through the medium of photography, all of the taverns, Inns, and pubs in the fictional land of Middle Earth?
Because I needed to justify to my wife all of the years and years I have wasted...er.. I mean, spent on The Lord of the Rings Online. Okay, not exactly the only reason. You see, I appreciate the effort the designers of the game put into the little details in Middle Earth. The sounds, weather, the night sky, even their attempt to make social areas in the hopes players would utilize them for parties and gatherings. Their efforts were meant to make the game more immersive for those of us who take the time to smell the virtual roses. So this is my way of paying homage to those folks, their dream, and the talents of J.R.R. Tolkien. Besides, who doesn't like a good pub? Within the folds of this website you will find every decrepit building, sweaty barkeep, and flea infested Inn that exists in the realm of Middle Earth. May you enjoy drinking your way through them as much as I enjoyed documenting them. My only regret is that I did it all sober. |

Moria's Twenty-first Hall Tavern
Did you know that there was a tavern in the Mines of Moria? Well there is, sort of. While other taverns and Inns of Middle Earth are well known, the tavern in Moria is more of a legend than a reality. It's a lost tavern in every sense of the word. Abandoned when the orc armies drove out the dwarves, the tavern above the Twenty-first Hall is the most lonely tavern you will ever visit in Middle Earth.
